This is a bit milder flavour and more fruity / acidic than the qualita rossa, which I also really like. I would maybe choose the rossa over this one for lattes etc. ('cuz it has a bit more body to stand out in the milk), but for straight espresso and when I'm in a mellower mood, inblu is great.

Excellent value in the 4-pack.

Fresh pods smelled like Folgers. Stale pods smelled like stale Folgers. They make okay espresso.

Love these Lavazza pods. Good crema , mellow chocolate taste. Brand new Gaggia classic being used for espresso. I have found that tamping the pod and slightly wetting makes a great pull with wonderful results. Repeated attempts with grinding my own beans have not come close to ease, simplicity and taste of these ESE pods.

I expected better from Lavazza having been introduced to it in Rome last year. In perspective, I usually grind my espresso beans (Brazil Sweet Blue is my favorite) immediately before brewing and I always buy beans that have been roasted no more than 1 week ago. This obviously skew my taste toward fresh product and these pods are definitely not that. Convenient, though.

I have had plenty of espresso in coffeeshops that was inferior to Lavazza pods. Good, strong, flavorful blend -- in a convenient and reliable package. That said, it's not the same as just-ground, perfectly tamped coffee run through a $10,000 machine -- but it's a great daily cup.

I like these and both of the Espressione (classic & 100% arabica) E.S.E. pods. Have had some bad luck with other pods (Baronet in particular). These are very consistent in the espresso that they make and have excellent crema. And they're the least expensive that I could find on amazon or locally, so I'd recommend them pretty well. Grinding my own coffee (and having roasted it as well), I sometimes make a better espresso than the pods. But not everytime if I don't get the grounds tamped just right. 150 pods should last you a week. At least!

We discovered Lavazza coffee while staying in an upscale club in Chicago. The coffee maker in the room had Lavazza Gran Filtro as the choice. I was impressed by the coffee coming out of this little machine, but figured it was just the opulence of the place overwhelming my taste buds. Then I discovered a small Lavazza coffee shop nearby and the coffee was even better. My love for Lavazza coffee was born.

But alas, too much caffeine makes me nuts. Could the decaf be any good? It is! The same smooth, slightly sweet, never bitter taste of Gran Filtro comes through in the decaf. We keep both the regular and decaf on hand and regularly get good reviews on the coffee we serve. I've stopped buying anything else.

Usinga La Spaziale Vivaldi pump espresso machine, despite multiple attempts, tamping as hard as humanly possible, tamping multiple layers, double shot portafilter, the shot was pulled 3-5 seconds. Way too fast and with essentially ZERO crema and thin, watery.

I even tried regrinding but this clogged my grinder and I needed to take it apart to clear.

In emails Lavazza admitted my findings. A lavazza retailer suggested I buy more Lavazza coffee but beans.

Why does Italy's largest coffee company need to misrepresent the coffee this product will produce. In their email, they say this product is intended for coffee drinkers with a different taste, but the packaging photos and description clearly target those with pump espresso machines seeking a good "crema" as depicted by the photo.

Italy's largest coffee company solution was suggesting I buy more coffee from them. I spent considerable time scanning the packaging per Lavazza request and supplying them with additional info.

A reasonable person might think such a reputable company could/would a provide a suitable replacement product or coupon especially after admitting the customer is correct and the product will not produce the espresso shown on the package.

I can use local coffee at a fraction of Lavazza's price and get quite a better/real shot of espresso similar to the one on the package photo.

Excellent Service, fast shipping and careful packaging. I love a good deal and this coffee is not your inexpensive variety. In my local stores I'm looking at 7.95 when on sale. OK, if you know espresso, you should know Lavazza. If you don't, you aren't paying attention. You can get this stuff in most specialty food stores, Italian markets, and upscale grocery stores, but why pay anywhere from $5.50 to $7.00 a brick when you can get a case of vacuum packed loveliness for $4.50 a pop? I'm half way through mine since ordering, and the last is as fresh as the first. I'm guessing I could wait another year and it would still be fine.

In case you dont know Lavazza, the Crema e Gusto is a mild blend - very smooth, a bit chocolaty, and a very nice texture and mouth feel. Best served piping hot. I make mine on the stove top stainless Alessi three cup and it never fails to please. At half the price of Illy, there is no comparison. In case you like Illy, this is a more robust blend then they make - Illy is probably the mildest and smoothest espresso I know, but it doesn't do it for me.

Really delicious! Start out firm and become chewy (careful if you have loose bridge-work!)and are a great treat if you are trying to avoid sugar/carbs and like the taste of coffee candy. Remember that these are sweetened with "sugar-alcohol" which has a laxative effect if you really overdo it, but a few over the course of the day really satisfies the sweet tooth without all the carbs of regular candy. I think they're great!

I love eating these candies. The only reason that I am not giving them a 5th star is that they are very attached to the wrapper. I can be a bit of a sticky business to get them from the bag onto the tongue, but the taste is worth it. And 10 calories per pop is not too much given their rich flavor and sweetness.

I originally started drinking Cafe Altura Dark Roast Decaf when I was pregnant, as I wanted to avoid caffeine. I chose this decaf because it's made with the Swiss Water Method, meaning there are absolutely no harmful chemicals. I continued to drink the Dark Roast while breastfeeding, but after that I started drinking regular coffee again. However, after just a month, I'm switching back to this Dark Roast Decaf. I like the taste, and I feel healthier drinking it. Like the previous reviewer, I probably make it a little stronger than the instructions specify--but then I do that with all coffee. If you're looking for a healthy alternative way to start your day (sans Folgers in your cup), this is a good option.

If you're looking for a full-bodied, rich dark-roast decaf, keep looking. The only way to make this coffee worth drinking is to use 1.5 times the amount I usually use for a dark roast. Even then, it's nothing special.

I tried this coffee on a recommendation from a friend and I am very pleasantly suprised.

It is smooth and aromatic, great flavor and nicely roasted. The grind is very fine so you don't need to use as much as other coffees. It comes in space saving bricks for easy storage and is vacuum sealed. I had mine around for a few weeks before opening and was fresh.

If you like good coffee, gotta give this a try.
